How to Do your Learning & Performance Evaluations

What are Learning & Performance Evaluations (LPEs)?
Every semester, both students and supervisors will evaluate the work that the student has done that semester, and whether or not it aligns with the overall learning outcomes set by the crew.

Who does them?

Students working on semester crews, as RAs or RDs, or as Day Students are required to fill out two separate evaluations. Students working outside their 10-20 hour requirement on Additional Hours Contracts or as tutors should not complete these evaluations for their Additional Hours Crews:

  • LPEs – the student’s evaluation of themselves against their crew’s set criteria
  • Supervisor Evaluation – the confidential evaluation of the student’s supervisor that goes directly to the WPO

Supervisors
LPEs – the supervisor evaluation of the student worker

The process:

  • Students are required to fill out their part of the LPE no later than Week 14 of the semester.
  • Supervisors are required to fill out their part of the LPE no later than Week 14 of the semester.

During Weeks 15 and 16, when both the student and supervisor have filled out their respective parts of the LPEs, the two meet to discuss the evaluation. At this meeting, each party will sign the LPE Agreement stating that they have met and reviewed the LPE together.

The student must separately fill out a Supervisor Evaluation before the semester ends on May 16th.

Supervisors will submit their completed LPE Agreement to the WPO by the first Friday of the break following Week 16 of the semester.
