The Alumni Awards began in 1961 with the Distinguished Alumni Award as a way to recognize alumni who embodied the principles for which Warren Wilson College stands, particularly areas of hard work, academic excellence and a commitment to community service.  With the addition of the Distinguished Service Award in 1971, the Distinguished Community Service Award in 1998, and most recently the Young Alumni Award in 2014, these awards have become our way of honoring alumni and friends whose commitment to the College’s values have helped them influence their communities and change the world.
